Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator who works for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received an Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell started her career as a journalist for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in 1967. She was a reporter for the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. The following year, she was a general reporter for NBC News in Washington. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House correspondent in 1992. and the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell is a former panelist as well as host of the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist at the debate in 1988 among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received in 2005 the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism for The John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell for her contribution in the defense of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on for the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 in the two years that Ronald Reagan served as president. The reporting she did included plenty of important stories like the Iran-contra scandal, the budget and tax reform and also the arms control. She traveled widely together with President Reagan for summits together with Mikhail Gorbachev.
